Time is running short for students to apply for the 2004 St. Petersburg Times Scholarship, worth up to $60,000 over four years.
The application deadline is Sunday. The scholarship is open to high school seniors in public, private and parochial schools in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
Applications are available through high school guidance counselors, at offices of the St. Petersburg Times and by mail. The application also may be downloaded from the Times' Web site at www.sptimes.com/scholarships
Applications must be mailed by Sunday to R&R Education Consultants, P.O. Box 250861, New York, N.Y. 10025.
In March, four college-bound students will be selected to receive up to $15,000 per year for four years at accredited colleges of their choice.
Selection is based on scholastic achievement, financial need and having overcome significant obstacles to achieve academic success.
In the past four years, 16 students from high schools in Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Hillsborough counties have received the awards.
